Many adverts say that you can scan in great pictures with their scanner. What they don't tell you is the reflected light, the discolorations, the lint and the scratches the scanner picks up that you can't see with the naked eye but you and everybody else can once you've scanned it in. It can make the photo look like it went through the washing machine in your pants pocket. Let's help you with your dilemma.

We also take great care in refurbishing your photos into digital photos to look new and to be printable. This is the cheapest and fastest way to get your photos digitized. Each picture is in Standard Size and Base Formats. We can also add a sepia tint or any other tint color to a black and white. If you need your photos saved in CYMK add $.05 per photo. (FAQ)

Retouch Photos
|
Retouching a photo can be very tedious but we love tedium. That is why we are so good at making sure that every scratch, every tear, every watermark is carefully cleaned off the digitized photo. You can see the average** time it takes so you can get an idea. The average time spent is for simple retouching like minor amounts of scratches, facial blemishes, or reflective spots. Retouching a Custom Enlargement size photo will be charged at the rate of the photo size after the enlarging.
Each is a per photo price of the original photo size. Prices for retouching are for minor retouching. If the photo is severely damaged a per hour of $40 is charged. Prices below include scanning, corrections, and Base Formats.
- R1. Up to wallet size (2x3) = $30 (**1 hour)
- R2. over 2x3 to 4x6 = $45 (**1.5 hours)
- R3. 4x6 to 5x7 = $60 (**2 hours)
- R4. 5x7 to 8x10 = $90 (**3 hours)
- R5. over 8x10 = $120 (**4 hours)

Multi-Sizes
|
Multi-Sizes are more than one Standard Size of the same image. Not all Standard Size photos will be able to be resized to the larger Multi-Sizes. You can not print a digital 8x10 photo from a scanned Standard Wallet size photo. Custom Enlarging will need to be done for printing large images from small photos.
Our Standard quality for all digital photos is high quality. The quality settings for JPGs can vary in file size(*) which make the download or transfer of the photo slow or fast. (FAQ)
Quality Settings
- MQ :Max Quality is 80-100% of its quality and makes the photo a very large file size(*) (depending on the original photo size) but is very good quality. It is suggested you use this when you want the photo to be printable or for a small image (less than 75 pixels wide) on the web.
- HQ :High Quality is 60-79% of its quality and can end up being a large file size(*) if the photo is large. This is the second best quality to use if you want the photo printable or on the Internet, for the "larger image" link. It is also ok to use for small photos.
- UQ :Medium Quality is 30-59% of its quality. This is generally used if the original photo is large, is going to be put on the Internet for download and will NOT be printed. It reduces the file size(*) of the photo for fast downloads but generally is not good for printing.
- LQ :Low Quality is 0-29% of its quality and is very, very poor. We do not suggest this setting ever to be used as the poor quality is very pixilated. However, if this is what is wanted we can do it. We just don't like to do it because of the poor quality.

Custom Enlargements & Cropping
|
Custom Enlargement is enlarging a small photo so it can print out as a larger photo. (Example: If you have a wallet size photo and want to be able to print out the digital photo as an 8x10). Cropping is to give the photo better composition, crop out something unwanted, or for better printing ratio.

Archived Photos
|
Did you ever forget where that certain picture is? Or, do you have box full of photos, all unorganized? We can archive your photos for you with all the information you need and place that archived file on the CD we'll burn for you. There are several ways to archive your photos. Archive prices are for the archiving process of digital photos only and does not include the scanning, retouching, multi-size, or custom enlarging of photos. (FAQ)
Text File = $25 up to 50 photos - $10 each additional set of up to 25 photos
The Text File is just a plain list of the names of the Images and a Description of each image. This is good for just having a list of the image names and the photo it is associated with. Two field names only.
No offer of extra field names.
Comma Delimiter File = $35, up to 50 photos
(Two field names. $5 each additional set of up to 5 photos, each additional field name)
The Comma Delimiter File is a plain file but with the Image Name and Description separated by commas. It creates rows and columns when imported into an Excel spread sheet.
Access File = $100, up to 50 photos
(Two field names. $10 each additional set of up to 5 photos and $5 each additional field name).
This is a raw Access Database file with fields named: Image Name and Description of each photo. For an extra charge we can include any other information (field names) you wish regarding the photo like Date the photo was taken or information about the person like Birthday, Birth Place, Name of person(s), etc. This is great to use to access the information on a web site or use in letters to friends and family (requires additional programming outside the file to work effectively on the web or in your word processor or publication program).
